MA students are the guest speakers of the 8th of Wardrobe Talks. We are truly delighted. 🤩Lauren will discuss creativity impacts on our health and wellbeing. What creativity means to us. How do we feel when we are being creative. How are we managing to find time for creativity and how important in our lives is to be creative. Lauren asks you to bring along a creative passion which you feel you haven’t been able to make time for. This could be embroidery, knitting, painting, scrapbooking – whatever you want! ✂🧵🪡Megan will discuss “how fast fashion influences the perceptions of body image and how fast fashion contributes to narrow, idealised beauty standards”. Megan studied a fine art, her focus is on body image and how fast fashion and its marketing strategies is influencing our perception of our body-shapes. 🧜♀️ 🦹♀️🧚♀️Charlotte will be exploring nostalgia and childhood with a mini ZINE making workshop. 👀💚🪞LJMUs Fashion Innovation & Realisation

This wardrobe talk is dedicated to a sustainable approach to our clothing - reusing, mending, altering, repurposing what we already have with a tactile experience of material sensation, i.e. different materials’ feel, their production, end of life and everything in between.ANDSwap shop event by ZERO Fashion CIC.The Wardrobe Talk itself starts at 2.30pm but worry not if you come earlier or later as one of us will discuss textile, clothes and everything you are interested in with you as you come, bring some unwanted clothes with you.Garments you would like to swap should be of a good quality, clean, and in a wearable condition.Reuse, Mend, Repair, Repurpose, & Swap

She has an interest in fabric sustainability and is driven to reduce the amount of fabric waste that comes alongside making clothes. At her Crafters & Makers studio in Hoylake, she teaches sewing skills to people of all ages and she still enjoys making costumes and props occasionally for Claire House and Liverpool Museums.ZERO WASTE PATTERNS

Christmas special talk when all attendees are guests who can share they love for what their wear & why.
You can come in a fancy dress, mask or costume, uniform, pyjama, little black dress, traditional national costume, sport outfit, all black tie - it's up to you! What outfit makes you feel yourself, what dress is sentimental for you (i.e. "senti mente' feel with your mind), what makes you feel calm and satisfied. Dress for yourself and share with us.

Cathy Wright is passionate about heritage crafts, soil to soil approach and wellbeing. She sparkles interest in crafts to keep the skills alive.She teaches spinning, weaving and dyeing.
